ANNT member Amina Bećić, a doctoral candidate and assistant at the Department of Receptor Biochemistry of Ruhr University in Germany, will lead the “Biolab” workshop at STEM Youth Camp 2022.
Through the „Biolab“ workshop you will have the opportunity to explore the microworld within you and around you. You will find out what biochemistry, molecular biology and cytology study. You will get to know fascinating DNA through the process of isolating it from plant samples. You will learn how scientists modify DNA, using an „in silico“ method with which you yourselves will be able to design a plan for creating a genetically modified organism (GMO). Finally, you will learn the basics of using a microscope and dive into the microworld of cells.
