What is PSI?
The Student Research Project (PSI), run by the Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (ANNT), is based on the model of the prestigious UROP programme (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme), found at many highly ranked universities around the world. The aim of PSI is to give students the opportunity to gain practical research experience, to stimulate interest in science, and to enable the development of key knowledge and skills through work with experienced researchers.
The programme is free of charge for all participants, and the mentors involved in the project are volunteers.
Following the successful cycles in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, we are pleased to open applications for PSI 2025!
🔬 PROJECTS
The list of projects and mentors, together with topic descriptions, the expected prior knowledge and the skills you will develop through the work, can be found on the BH Academic Directory at this link.
This year, mentors from physics, engineering, robotics, computer science and other natural and technical sciences, with research experience at prestigious universities and institutes, have confirmed their participation in the programme.
🧠 WHO CAN APPLY?
The call is open to first- and second-cycle students, including integrated studies, from universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although the projects are primarily in the natural and technical sciences, motivated students from other fields may also apply, provided their knowledge matches the project descriptions.
✍️ HOW TO APPLY?
🎓Visit the BH Academic Directory and browse the section of open CALLS.
✅ Fill in the Google application form by 2 May 2025, choosing from the research projects on offer.
The application must be accompanied by:
- CV (Curriculum vitae)
- Transcript of grades
- Motivation letter (up to one A4 page) explaining your interest in research and the chosen topic

📌 Each mentor selects the candidates for their own project, and the selection may include an online interview.
📌 STUDENT OBLIGATIONS
Selected students are expected to:
- Regularly attend meetings with their mentor (every two to three weeks)
- Actively participate in project activities and tasks
- Take part in joint ANNT events related to PSI
- Present their results at the final online session
Obligations will be flexibly aligned with your university timetable, in agreement with the mentors.
🗓️ PSI 2025 TIMELINE
- April – Applications (until 02.05.), selection and initial meetings
- May – November – Project work and periodic presentations
- December – Final presentations and award of certificates of participation
(Note: the timeline may be adjusted according to the needs of mentors and participants.)
